It works by insulting the part you want to hide and conducting the surrounding heat around it. It doesn’t really work for anything that generates a lot of heat as it will just build up so it wouldn’t work for something anywhere near as hot as a jet engine or rocket.

Yeah the problems with all these data centers are largely solvable. The power usage part wouldn’t be an issue either if they were also investing in sufficient renewable sources to power these things, but instead when they don’t just dump the burden on whatever is already there they’re always reopening ancient coal plants or setting up gas turbines.
I think the strain is really dependent on the person as it never really bothered me, it definitely is a problem for some people though. Either way I don’t think it belongs in the same category as blockchain bullshit

Yeah imo the one thing ai is legitimately useful for is finding answers to difficult problems that can be trivially verified as correct.
