Absolutely, I guess I was more forgiving back then. Plus this feels way more agressive and covers everybody. I think it’s more the fact that it’s in the public eye and they don’t care at all which is making it worse to me.

I really, really hope this backfires. They are arguing in public about how we should not have rights to the games they offer us and somehow don’t care how bad the optics look? I swear I think I am done with Sony and I have been with them since the 90s. They need consequences for trying to treat its consumers with such disregard. At least most companies try to hide it behind closed doors.
The few times I go I always forget wondered why they never had this. I feel like it has been pretty much everywhere now for over a decade.

When GDPR was becoming big we adopted the standard over a year of figuring out what was needed to be done and implementing it. We wanted to be on top of it because we thought it would become the standard. So we are compliant and a US based company.

Data should not be sold or used outside its 1 purpose. It should not be available to the original company at all to look at or have access to. Accessing data should only be allowed through court issued warrants and only on the devices in the proximity and time of the incident. As someone who is an admin to systems that deal with patient data information I can tell you without a doubt we dont even have access to this data, just the setup of everything else around it. It also has a full audit log of everyone who even views the data. This isnt anything new, they just decided to change the rules to see how far they can get away with doing whatever they want for personal gain.
I dont use Jellyfin, but I heard of some of the things it did and jellyfin sounded like a step above due to its dedicated music app and similar songs for playlists.
I use Navidrome as the server and Symfonium for the mobile app. It is by far the best option I have ever used in the 20 years of setting up a personal server. I used Subsonic before this but it was abandoned years ago and Navidrome is a fork of it. The amount of continuous effort put in and new features that still get released is fantastic. Im always excited when i see a new version drop.

I read that same line 3 times before realizing this is not comic book villain bad.

These fines feel bigger than the ones we fine oil or other huge corporations for actually doing awful things…

I think the other bad part is even the no name brands have ramped up prices as well… for a bit it was pretty good, but I feel like a lot of them just ended up pricing themselves the same as they did before, which is like .50 cents less or maybe a $1 less than the main brand. At that point i say its not even worth it and either decide on just buying the name brand cause the savings is dumb or just not buy it again until they lower the price or it goes on a good sale.

Exactly, it’s not hard to explain. Money is also tighter and that will drop a lot of people from buying games right now as well. There is a reason why they sell the console at a loss, they know the exact amount people are willing to pay and this is well beyond that.

Yeah I hear you. I was just stating for people who do want to continue using it. I got mine off of https://shop.lifehacker.com/ which idk if its better or worse than ebay, but I don’t really trust ebay very much and this seems to offer similar discounted pricing.

Wow, I had no idea he was that old. That means he was in his 40’s already when he worked on all of that which is wild.

I absolutely agree if you need cloud storage it could be worth it, but I definetly don’t. I am pretty dull, local storage and backup to a NAS is fine for my simple life haha.

Good to see the correct response to this post. Nothing about what they are doing is off. Im still using office 2019 personally since i got it really cheap like a year before it went EOL. I use it so infrequently for personal use it doesnt bother me, but its nice to have.
On top of this there is office 2024 which if you did still need to move to another version thats equivlant then this is what you want. I am honestly shocked more people dont just buy the stand alone office over 365 subscriptions. Is it because Microsoft stopped advertising that they exist? 1 time fee over monthly anyday.

Ugh, my work domain is on here… but its showing an unknown IP as the url for access so maybe not lol?

And still nothing done about the ps5 comtrollers…

Your lucky you can still find that. The ones i have been to in my region are just kiosks and if you need someone your basically waiting 5 minutes until someone in back realizes your waiting.

Thats because they don’t really change much of anything and if they do they take entire generations to commit. Even if they were considering AI it would take them at least 5 years before we heard or saw something. Take their online experience. It’s still a shitshow compared to others and it took them nearly a decade over the others before providing anything at all.

Yeah, I would also like to know more on how bitlocker screwed him. Like was it a legit problem or that the device died and didnt have the keys to decrypt it? If it’s not keeping the keys somewhere safe, which it even makes you do by not allowing you to select the local device, then idk how the blame is microsoft is shitty. Need more info though.
What moving back to what to what and what?
