Holy shit, I didn’t even realize until now that it’s just a rectangular screen on a circular surface. What a terrible design.
It’s fair to hate Nintendo, but “phoning it in” when we got BoTW, TotK, Mario Odyssey, Smash Ultimate, Xenoblade 2 and 3, Pikmin 4, FE three houses, Luigi’s mansion 3, Splatoon 2 and 3, and bayonetta 3 in the last 7 years? All these games can arguably considered the best in their respective series too.
I recently wanted to get a pre-workout, I looked it up on Amazon and then I went to the company site to just order directly from there. It was like $10 cheaper on Amazon because of free shipping and subscribe & save.
I’m not denying their quality. I have just been using my original oculus quest and my steam deck charger for my phone, tablet and headphones.
I don’t love it, but I guess it does remove some e-waste. I don’t use any of the original cables for my headphone or my phone.
I’m not an IT expert, so I don’t know how feasible this is, but they should have at least two branches of updates. One that is strictly security and the other that are all the bells and whistles. I would love to stick with an old os if it’s not vulnerable to the outside world.
I remember that /r/all was actually pretty educational back in the day. There were specific users that you would know by their user names that always posted something insightful.
BMW is always making headlines with this crap, are there any other brands doing this shit? I know Hyundai IONIQ has a free trial for you to be able to unlock your car and whatnot with an app, later they will do it subscription based.
Companies that rely a lot on their phone apps, but exclude the “cancel/remove account” feature in the app are the worst. This should be illegal or regulated.
No, that is not what I was talking about. In the current environment it is completely possible for some people to only have interactions with bots online, without even knowing. This may get worse and worse in the future. THAT is what “dead” internet implies, lifeless online interactions essentially.
You’re taking the word “dying” too literally
I don’t know if I could live with myself knowing how many lives I ruined, maybe that’s why the shit floats to the top. Sane people are not as accomplished because they “don’t make the tough decisions”.
I don’t get what happens in the backend, but you can’t convince me that these companies should be multi-billion dollar companies.
Sorry, I think I worded it poorly. I was saying that Netflix and Spotify were good, but Netflix got a bit neutered after other companies came in. Spotify is still amazing though.
Just 10mins ago I was thinking how great the digital age started. I liked that when I bought something I can store it anywhere, play/listen (don’t remember if digital movies was a thing) it without any internet connection etc. Then we got Netflix and eventually Spotify and we got even more options, do you want to pay a reasonable price a month and watch/play essentially anything or do you want to keep your stuff forever and pay more? But then other companies wanted that piece of pie and started their own services, neutered existing services, raise prices often, got more aggressive with drm and other limitations. My point is, when things start and they seem good in this tech world of ours, just think a bit outside of the box about how bad it can get, because believe me, you are likely correct with that. When this digital age started, people were fearful too, and most of their fears came true.
I have a Hisense and a LG and I never connected them to WiFi. I have not had any issues
This is correct. We should hate spez for being a skeevy ashole, but let’s not make up random accusations.
This may seem baseless, but I have seen this from years of experience in online forums. You don’t have to take it seriously, but maybe you can relate. We have seen time and time again that if there is no moderation then the shit floats to the top. The reason being that when people can’t post something creative or fun, but they still want the attention, they will post negative. It’s the loud minority, but it’s a very dedicated loud minority. Let’s say we have 5 people and 4 of them are very creative time and funny, but 1 of them complains all the time. If they make posts to the same community then there is a very good chance that the one negative person will make a lot more posts than the 4 creative types.
Currently I have hbo max free with my phone plan, plex on nas and my local library. I also have YouTube music family plan, but I started putting songs on nas recently, maybe I’ll replace that too.
