I could see this as an interesting lab concept. That possibly users could install from some kind of site if they really wanted it. Not as a mainstream function pushed to evry system. Even if it’s inactive by default for now.

Well, I said it was stable for a Microsoft system.

I understand that it’s strange to people used to windows, but we had computers that just didn’t crash. Ever. Then everything moved to PC with windows and it all went to shit. Now it’s mostly back to unix which while not crashproof is at least reasonably resilient and a proper system.

How many deer are on that road? It’s mowing down dozens of them in that video!

It seems to me that Windows, which used to be reasonably stable (say, between XP and 10), as Microsoft systems go, has gone into beta status with Windows 11 and is now slipping into a kind of perpetual alpha.

Disclaimer, I haven’t used Windows seriously for decades (now and then for the odd game or for VR) and only boot it every other month to see what it looks like.

If it’s your os drive that dies, nothing important has been lost except for a few minutes of work. You can boot from a variety of media (cd, usb…) for recovery, or drive replacement. Worst case, you’ll have to reinstall a few things in the following days.

It’s also why it’s not a bad idea to separate the various aspects of the system on distinct drives.

As much as I understand that some tiny countries need every source of income they can get, I still firmly believe that regional TLDs should only get to be used by users relevant to that region. Or else they just have no meaning at all.
