Burst the fucking bubble already. I’m edging so hard right now.
I was a Windows user since 95, but I was increasingly feeling that my Windows PC was not my PC. That my personal information was being sent to some MS server. Then they started pushing recall and shoe horning in copilot. The sledgehammer that broke the camel’s back was when my perfectly good PC was deemed not good enough for an upgrade to Windows 11. I went Linux and am never going back.

Their lane being sourcing carnauba wax from plantations that use forced labor?

I switched from Windows 10 to Mint. While there is a steep learning curve with basic things like adding an icons to the menu, I’m wishing I made the move earlier. There is a noticeable performance improvement with Stable Diffusion.

I’ve been a Windows user since 95. I tried a few times to move to Linux, but basic user unfriendly problems always brought me back to Windows. Now there’s no option to go back. Linux Mint has had some bumps, but I’m properly motivated to jump over those hurdles now. I’ve become a proud Linux user this last week. Finally free of Microsoft’s gravity.
I dug Digg once upon a time. When they tried to undermine the power users, I found Reddit. Then Reddit enshittified. Now I got Lemmy. It’s where I want to be. No company behind it, milking the users.
