LucidBoi@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Dual-booting as an intermediate phase for fully switching OSs3·7 months agoI’m currently daily driving Linux so I’m not planning on ever going back to Windows. No need to worry about that.
LucidBoi@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Dual-booting as an intermediate phase for fully switching OSs4·7 months agoOh, I haven’t heard of that. I’ll look into it. Btrfs subvolumes seem a bit more practical tho
LucidBoi@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Dual-booting as an intermediate phase for fully switching OSs1·7 months agoBecause I want to, if I like the experience, just keep the installed OS and delete my primary OS. Using a VM, if I end up liking the simulated OS, I have to install it and set it up anew.
LucidBoi@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Dual-booting as an intermediate phase for fully switching OSs1·7 months agoIf I understood correctly. Btrfs is a file system? So I’d need to re-install my distro using Btrfs? Let’s say I do that, I reinstall Zorin on Btrfs, and then I want to also install Silverblue. Would I be able to then remove Zorin and keep only Silverblue?
LucidBoi@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Dual-booting as an intermediate phase for fully switching OSs3·7 months agoBut will I be able to eventually remove OS #1 and switch to the one installed afterwards?
LucidBoi@lemmy.dbzer0.comOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Dual-booting as an intermediate phase for fully switching OSs4·7 months agoThat doesn’t solve my problem, since I want to eventually erase OS #1 and permanently switch to OS #2, which I won’t be able to do if I use a VM.

LucidBoi@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Linux@lemmy.ml•It seems M$ really doesn't want people to keep using WIndows51·8 months agoWhy though? What is the purpose of avoiding the filters? Are there shadow-bans based on keywords on Lemmy? There might be something I’m missing, but I only see this as a way to inconvenience people who use filters.
LucidBoi@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Linux@lemmy.ml•It seems M$ really doesn't want people to keep using WIndows152·8 months agoWhy do people avoid using the word Microsoft? It’s annoying when you use filters and people just circumvent them.
I switched to Zorin OS (from Windows) at the beginning of this year and never looked back. Great for newbies.
