Its a huge media company at this point so by its own logic it has to churn out a lot of content to mantain itself and grow. Basically they just produce a bunch of slop these days.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Will I survive the Linux CLI if I only switch because I'm a student and Arch distro speed?English
1·25 days agoYeah why not? No one was born knowing how to navigate the terminal. The only “hard” part of Arch is the installation, and these days there is even a script to automatically set it up.
If you have a spare computers, an old laptop maybe, you should first practice there before doing it on your main computer.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Where is Linux not working well in your daily usage? Share your pain points as of 2026, so we can respectfully discussEnglish
1·2 months agoProb niche but ive had my pacman aur wrapper
parukinda broke for many months and ive let it pass so much that its probably much harder to fix now lol. I used to cat one file that cache’d available aur packages so i could pipe it into a fzf command but its no longer making that cache file.
It’s ok, not great but just ok. I mostly recommend people to keep a one drive for linux and one for windows exclusively for gaming. That way you can also keep any propietary software you need on your windows drive without compromising your linux drive.
Property really do be the root of all evil.

1·2 years agoPop_os!
Like why is ubuntu still the newbie friendly distro to recommend? I feel like pop_os is a no brainer, and yet i never see it mentioned 😂
Edit: just look at this post, im the only mention 😂
Same as Luke smith, good linux content but they both cryptofascists. Also its funny that they both turned into grifters, one with monero and one with a shitty dropshipping merch.
Task manager program used to be good in the Windows XP - Windows 7(?) period. It’s kinda terrible right now and the ones in linux don’t feel quite right for me.
