i think it’s because some people have been alleging reasoning is happening or is very close to it

the deployed architecture of linux is still evolving right now and there are lots of distros experimenting with different approaches

• how the basic core OS is structured - immutability, A/B partitions, versioned rollback
• how third party applications are executed - containerization, compatibilty, virtualization, bare metal
• how software is updated and stored - package management (apt, pacman, nix, flatpak)

i’m sure i’ve missed other features of new linux distros. this is all really important stuff but has nothing to do with the apps you actually use day to day

assuming that “AI” has “reasoning” and using it in applications that require that is dangerous

I think over-selling the “AI” with “reasoning/thinking” language becomes fraudulent and encourages inappropriate/dangerous applications.

the novelty touchpad/numpad combo device on my asus thing also doesn’t work but i’m fine with that

so i guess if you have specific device requirements from the laptop, make sure they do work before buying

in my experience Linux works on any laptop i put it on

in this case it would be the british government that already has my passport and driver license photos stored digitally so this would just be to validate a digital login as a real person
