I had the same problem - see this thread for solution (you have to scoll down to the middle)

in short, delete or rename this file: /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/61-gdm.rules
In fact, forget the EV!
You could set up a dummy LAN with no internet access for the tv. Unless it actually has more than one network card, it would need to be able to have the ability to virtualize network interfaces to connect elsewhere, and I really doubt these TVs are that smart.
I have the Ubiquiti Edgerouter X. I got it mostly because at the time it was on sale 😂 but it seems to have decent support. Note that you will have to get a wireless AP as the Edgerouter is a pure router without WiFi function. Lots of people also like Mikrotik products.
pi-hole ftw. the vast majority of my pi-hole’s DNS drops are from various Roku and Roku-like devices. Also, put all your IoT stuff onto a guest network, or if your gear supports it, on its own VLAN.
Linux runs great on Intel iMacs. Just sayin’.
You can block YouTube ads simply by connecting to an Albanian VPN server.
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. I am not a coder but using chatGPT I was able to take someone else’s simple program and modify for my own needs within just a few hours of work. It’s definitely not perfect and you still need to put in some work to get your program to run exactly the way you want it to but it’s using chatGPT is a good place to start for beginners, as long as they understand that it’s not a magic tool.
Not sure what to think of this. I have frontier right now and it mostly works. When there was a power outage a few weeks ago the fios network still worked. Years ago we had Verizon wireless and it was overpriced and not great service - switched to T-Mobile and have never looked back. My only other option where i live is Spectrum, which is no bueno.
Without jpeg compression artifacts how the hell are we supposed to know which memes are fresh and which memes are vintage???
lmfao. At one point the Logitech mouse driver for MacOS was a 1GB download. They want me to pay for that shit??? gtfo.
VW ID.4 is not perfect but comes close to what you’re asking for. also qualifies for full US tax credit. yes it integrates a bunch of stuff into the touch screen. But in terms of “fancy functions” it doesn’t really have much except CarPlay/Android Auto.
Geez, has this dude never watched a crime drama before? If you’re gonna be doing bad shit at LEAST get a burner phone. 🙄🙄🙄
LePotato is a great budget board for pi-hole.
There is an official Apple Music desktop app for windows now, no need to use Cider.
Guys, why are you posting this here? Google isn’t paying lemmy $60m a year. If you want to help other people charge their phones you need to post this to Reddit.
In a lot of densely populated Asian cities, you can print to the shared printer of a local convenience store through the network without bringing a USB drive. You submit the job, it gets stored in the queue of the device, you go to the store (usually just downstairs from your apartment), scan a QR code, and the job prints. You can even pay online - it’s great!
Can someone explain from a technical standpoint how they can block OpenVPN running on port 443? my admittedly limited understanding is that port 443 is the common port for https. If they blocked that port wouldn’t that mean that they would be blocking nearly the entire internet?
Some people like the Apple ecosystem.
