Gaming on Linux has come a long way and I always prefer to run it on Linux rather than a dedicated Windows boot, if possible.

But if you rely on VRR, DLSS and have a decent HDR display, Linux unfortunately still isn’t quite there yet. VRR/HDR is mostly unsupported systemwide currently. DLSS sometimes works, sometimes requires a lot of debugging and ends up actually hurting the performance.

If your hardware setup allows you to run your games at a decent framerate without DLSS/VRR, this likely won’t be an issue for you.

The default configuration of a proxy could log connections, the config interface may accidentally be exposed unprotected and so on. (Duck)DNS != DynDNS. Und wie du selber schreibst, hast du dir genau so einen Dienst bei INWIX gekauft. DuckDNS unterstützt wie jeder andere DNS registrar natürlich auch das einmalige Setzen der IP, eine statische IP macht da keinen Unterschied.

Dies. Ich persönlich empfehle Nextcloud All-in-One, das ist ein sehr gutes System, welches von Backups über Updates über Erweiterungen fast alles beinhaltet, was das Herz begehrt.

Ich würde noch empfehlen, davor einen reverse proxy zu schalten, Docker bietet sich dazu ebenfalls an. Auch dazu hat Nextcloud AIO eine einfach verständliche Anleitung.

Für nur einen User benötigt Nextcloud nicht besonders viele Ressourcen, das ändert sich aber, wenn man diverse Erweiterungen wie Office oder Imaginary installiert. Nextcloud selbst benötigt mindestens 128 MB Ram. Meiner persönlichen Erfahrung nach reicht ein Core und 1 GB RAM locker für eine typische Installation.

Stelle dich allerdings auf diverse Problemchen beim täglichen Betrieb ein. Nextcloud ist schon sehr stabil geworden, aber ab und gibt es vor allem mit Clients immer noch kleine Problemchen, die sich aber meistens auch recht schnell lösen lassen.

Es lohnt sich auch meiner Erfahrung nach sehr, sich einen DNS Eintrag kaufen und nicht auf gratis Dienste wie DuckDNS setzen. Die sind toll für kleinere Projekte, aber haben immer wieder Probleme mit der Auflösung/Propagation. Und DNS Probleme zu debuggen ist richtig scheiße.

• All kind of apps

Linux phones, at the moment, are way behind Android/iOS in terms of security and, since privacy requires security, also in privacy.

Even stock Android has so many more security features, that it’s not even close. Verified boot, exploit mitigation, (working) app sandboxing and so on. Not even speaking of specialized projects like GrapheneOS.

Even if the app ecosystem was there and the OS mature, I’d never run my banking through a Linux phone at the moment.
