Since I’m doing all the admin stuff anyways, I went with EndeavourOS. Arch, but on easy mode. I’ve even got my sister in the habit of updating regularly!

Or Gl.iNet

Best ride clear of that

Some stuff needs a restart to use the new libraries and such when those things are already in use, since it doesn’t actually delete those until they stop being used. For example, if you get a new kernel, it won’t just delete your old one until you’re done using it. Terminal tools usually assume that you know this, so they won’t prompt you.

Krohnkite?

An extremely short life sentence

Just don’t let him eat any tomatoes

GNU Taler?
Yabridge might help for the plugins, it’s kinda hit and miss though.

If you’re looking for a change, there’s AV Linux, which is also Debian-based. Might be worth checking out.
Check out the Arch wiki page for Professional Audio, it’s got some great distro-agnostic tips for reducing latency.
I don’t, unfortunately, I’m a guitarist primarily. I did see some MIDI stuff in the menus though, so I think it’d be fine? I think it’d probably depend on drivers, so you’d probably have to check if your device has Linux support, if it’s not just taken care of by the generic drivers. You might ask on linuxmusicians.com, they’re a great resource!
For the music stuff, there’s also Bitwig and Ardour for good DAWs, Ardour’s free so that’s what I use. There’s yabridge for VSTs, though it’s hit and miss, and might be more tinkering than you want as you have to use an older version of wine. I’ve also heard about using carla for this purpose, but I haven’t messed around with that so I can’t attest to it’s usefulness. I use Arch for all this, so ymmv on Kinoite, I didn’t try any of it out when I was on Bazzite, but I can tell you that Bazzite was great for gaming!

I’m not a kernel expert, but that’s just quiet and splash right?

Gotta set up DNS to point to your server, here’s a quick guide on how to accomplish this, but cloudflare might have their own guide that would be more specific to your platform.

I use Prismlauncher, it’s great for managing multiple versions with different mod lists, Java versions, etc. Nice, clean interface, and you get a background cat!
I mean, Debian and Ubuntu are very different beasts, but I’ve never had a problem with any of my Endeavour machines except for the nagging itch in the back of my head that said, “it’s not real Arch” lol. The biggest difference from an Ubuntu or Mint is that you have to update more often, and you shouldn’t do it from a GUI so you’ll have to see the terminal every so often. I’d say it’s just about the same as Debian, just that Arch-based distros focus on performance, while Debian-based ones focus on stability. So I use Debian for my servers and Arch for my gaming/music making rigs.

Nah, YouTube serves ads on the same domain as the videos, so DNS filtering is out.

Have they made anything like this for Roku yet?
The last Windows machine in my house is because of one program: Embrilliance. It’s embroidery software that lets you make designs and send them directly to the embroidery machine. It technically works in WINE, but for some reason one of the cursors is missing, so when you try to draw freehand, you have no idea where the mouse is. Was thinking about trying Winboat for this eventually, but I haven’t gotten around to it.
