The companies that enshittify their service never actually care about their premium service. They provide a service which is good enough for free users and a pro version for power users. Later once they amass a critical userbase, they slowly make their free service shitty and ask users to pay to get their good-enough service back. Free users were their focus all along and these premium users are there just to pay some of their costs.
This is a case of corporation taking advantage of technically idiotic userbase, which is most of the general public. OpenAI using a dark pattern so that users can’t easily unchecked that box nor making that text that says “this can be indexed by search engines” brightly visible.
The amount of people around me who are actively depending on their AI chatbots, trusting them so much so that they treat it like their personal companion, enjoying AI generated content on these short-form content platforms, putting up their AI ghibili profile pics on their social media, is very concerning. It’s sad state we have reached and it will go worse from here on.
Do you think this therapist is trying to market therapy and increase his business? I also think the same 🤨

Same here. I wanted to include it too but it is not as quite bad as the other two(at least I hope so because I can’t avoid it). But yeah you never know with these Meta apps.
Young people have Instagram spyware on their phones and old people have Facebook spyware.
Btw Adguard collects your data. Check their privacy policy. The moment I knew this, I moved to mullvad DNS but nowadays it is not stable. (I use private DNS for system-wide adblocking)
Damn it we need Private-R1 now
I used to use perplexity until that news came in about it being a front runner to help companies replace workers who went on a strike demanding better work conditions. (Or something along those lines, I only remember the details sparingly)
I have used Duck AI and Brave AI to replace it.
AI service by Duckduckgo which offers anonymous access to popular AI models like Chatgpt, Claude, Mixtral, Llama.
How is Duck AI then when it comes to privacy? I use it a lot.
Gemini is really far behind. For me it’s Chatgpt > Llama >> Gemini. I haven’t tried Claude since they require mobile number to use it.
Why can’t they be a website than an app for Dekstop?
Also understood that they’re not open-source but are they privacy-respecting?
Edit: Went through their privacy policy and seems they’re privacy-focused. I will be trying their app now.
I would never pay to a service that is privacy intrusive.
Damn here I thought everyone gets to have only 24hrs a day.
CODM and PUBGM do exist
But OP did really meant that people who can’t use PCs are braindead idoits, which is very harsh. People who are using PCs at their workplace for the first time or have learnt using Windows for the sake of getting a job do be very cautious like that. They only used them in constricted way and never got to play around with it. You can never learn how a device works without playing around with it imo. Just because you had more experience with PCs doesn’t mean you have right to call who are inexperienced brain-dead idoits.
I have read the comments here and all I understand from my small brain is that, because we are using bigger models which are online, for simple tasks, this huge unnecessary power consumption is happening.
So, can the on-device NPUs we are getting on flagship mobile phones solve these problems, as we can do most of those simple tasks offline on-device?
How do I do that on my android tv?
